WHO I AM

After graduating in 2000 I immediately started working privately sticking to the core principles of Podiatry, routine Chiropody, wound care and minor surgery for the treatment of ingrowing toenails. I also aligned myself with Physio, Osteopathy and Chiropractic therapists to gain as much experience in Musculoskeletal pathology as possible. This has given me a more rounded, holistic approach when prescribing orthotics for patients taking into account the global picture of their body and not just from the knee down!
Podiatry has been good to me and taken me to interesting posts and places. This has included Chief 3 at Dudley South PCT, (As it was), heading up the Biomechanical Department and Orthotics Manufacturing Lab. A brief spell in London making Orthotics for Skiers at Snow and Rock, (I love Skiing!), and a long spell teaching back at the School of Podiatry in the Orthotics Lab there! During my time in the NHS I worked alongside a Podiatric Surgeon and this has set me up well as I take referrals from Orthopaedic Surgeons specialising not just in feet, but knees and hips too.
Along the way I have added to my repertoire with Podiatric Acupuncture,Joint Mobilisation, Bowen and Emmett Technique, all of which I refined on a visit to Australia where I spent some time with a Musculoskeletal Doctor in Sydney. However, I like to keep up to date with the basics with regular Continuous Professional Development, (CPD), because these, delivered with kindness and a human approach yield great results for patients.
